About me

I’m a research group leader at EMBL-EBI, where I run the Pathogen Informatics and Modelling Group.

I work on bioinformatics and software, statistical genetics, genomic epidemiology, GPU programming, and mathematical modelling – mostly on bacterial pathogens but sometimes on other microbes too. For more detail on my work and interests, please see my group’s research and software pages. You can also see some of my recent talks on youtube.

I also occasionally update this blog with technical questions and thoughts about programming and science.

See my code, papers, twitter and bluesky. Most code is on the bacpop github these days.
